The talaiots
of Son Serralta.

Talaiots are the stone towers of Mallorca's Bronze and Iron Age Talaiotic culture. The town hall counts several in and around Son Serralta, among more than fifty archaeological sites in the municipality.

Circular talaiot

Serral de ses Abelles

At the western edge of Son Serralta. Excavated by Guillem Rosselló Bordoy in 1950; in 2019 researchers identified a Bronze Age sword from the site, about 3,200 years old, now in the Museu de Mallorca in Palma.

Quadrangular talaiot

Talaiot de Son Serralta

A second tower with a probably square plan, standing up to five courses of medium and large stones, with more scattered around. It is the first stop on the town hall's Son Serralta urban route.

The giant's house

Sa Casa des Gegant

On the neighbouring Son Puig estate: the most monumental talaiot in the municipality, about 13 m across and 3 m high. In 2025 archaeologist Jaume Deyà led conservation work to clear vegetation, survey the site and install a new information panel.

The sites are on private or protected land; visit respectfully, do not climb the walls, and look out for the guided visits the town hall announces. More history · Puigpunyent facts
