Puigpunyent to Palma
Pronunciation
Say it roughly pootch-poo-NYEN. "Puig" sounds like "pootch", the "ny" is the sound in Spanish "España", and the stress falls on the last syllable. In Mallorcan Catalan the final t is barely heard.
The name is Catalan. Puig means a hill or peak, a word you will see all over Mallorca, as in Puig de Galatzó and Puig Major.
